What can we expect while hosting an event at The Alderlea once doors are re-open? 

Attendance at The Alderlea will be restricted to the number instructed by the Ontario Provincial Government. All staff, vendors, clients and guests will be required to abide by physical distancing requirements (2m or 6ft). This will include restricting the flow of people in the building to be one-way. There will be hand sanitizing stations available at all main entrances and at the exterior washroom areas.

What sort of cleaning and sanitization procedures will be in place once The Alderlea is re-open? 

The Alderlea will be cleaned, sanitized and disinfected at the end of each day. Sanitization and disinfection of all equipment and high touch point areas (i.e. washrooms , kitchens, elevators, doorways, and most targeted are doorknobs, door handles, door push plates, handrails, elevator buttons, light switches, cabinet handles, faucet handles, phones, tables and countertops) will also occur in-between same day bookings. Disinfection practices include first cleaning the surface, then a disinfectant product is sprayed or wiped onto the cleaned surface and the surface is left in a wet or saturated state for the time duration recommended by the manufacture and finally the surface is then wiped off with a clean cloth.

What if someone (staff, vendors, clients or guests) is feeling unwell prior to arriving onsite or onsite itself? 

If someone is feeling unwell or exhibits COVID-19 symptoms, they are required to stay home. If someone starts to feel unwell or exhibits any COVID-19 symptoms while on-site, they will be isolated in the Morning Room with both doors closed and will exit through an alternative door.

Will face masks and gloves be mandatory on-site at The Alderlea? If yes, will The Alderlea provide them? 

Face masks and gloves are recommended on-site at The Alderlea. All clients, guests, staff and vendors are required to bring their own however, a few will be available upon request.

What is included in the venue rental fee?

The Alderlea venue rental fee includes the following:

  • Access to the Outside Grounds, the Parlour, the Pavilion, the Chisholm Room and on-site parking
  • Chiavari chairs and banquet tables including set-up and tear down
  • Consultation meeting with Facility Support Associate
  • City of Brampton Representative on-site for the duration of event
  • Photo shoot fees (for special events and corporate functions)
  • Key access to a safe
  • Easels/Flip char stand
  • Podium
  • In-house audio-visual equipment (i.e. wireless microphones, projector and screen etc.)
  • Adjustable lighting system
  • One final details meeting with Facility Support Associate and Facility Technician Lead (maximum 1 week prior to event)

What is the payment schedule?

The payment structure for events booked more than thirty (30) days before the event date consists of:

  • Signed rental agreement
  • 20% non-refundable deposit within ten (10) business days of agreement being issued
  • Remaining balance required thirty (30) days prior to the event date
  • $300 damage deposit required thirty (30) days prior to the event date

Events booked less than thirty (30) days before the event date must be paid in full upon booking

*Bookings may only be made up to one (1) year in advance unless approved by the Director, Facilities Operations and Maintenance or Designate

Are we able to have both our ceremony and reception at The Alderlea? 

Yes! We do not charge a separate fee for ceremony and/or reception. You are however required to provide your own officiant for ceremonies taking place at The Alderlea.

Is there a preferred vendor list?

We do not have a preferred vendor list however, we do have a preferred caterers list only – please click here for more information on catering options.

Are we able to use our own caterer?

Alderlea has three (3) preferred caterers who offer a variety of options. The Alderlea caterers are the only caterers permitted to work on the premises. Please click here to contact the caterers directly for more information.

If we have friends or family who are Smart Serve certified, are they able to serve alcohol at our event? 

No, all servers must be provided by one (1) of our three (3) preferred caterers.

Are you able to provide me a quote per head for our event? 

The City of Brampton manages The Alderlea venue space. For all food and beverage related questions, please contact our preferred caterers directly, their contact information can be found here.

Is the venue accessible? 

Yes, the venue is fully accessible.

Is there on-site parking available?

Yes, there are 23 parking spots available and 4 accessible spots on-site. There is additional parking less than a 5 minute walk located at City Hall and West Tower (parking at these locations are free in the evenings from 7pm onwards and weekends).

Is there wi-fi available on-site? 

Yes, there is free public wifi available to all guests.

What Audio-Visual (A/V) equipment is available? If there is something you don't have, can we bring our own?

The following A/V equipment is available for use in your venue rental fee:

  • Built-in projector and screen in the Pavilion room
  • Built-in speakers in the Pavilion room
  • Satellite radio
  • Wireless microphones
  • External speaker system to be used outdoors, the Parlour or Chisholm room

With the exception of speakers, you and your vendors are able to bring in your own A/V equipment. All musicians and vendors are required to plug into our built-in speaker system.
